The picture-postcard murder. Part II

A 33+rebel first - venturing into the moving image. Following on from the imagery, a title sequence was created for itv drama THE BAY. From initial concept, to art direction and retouch, to typography and animation - this project was one of the most exciting to date.

Gav was a creative powerhouse and the perfect collaborator – open in mind and spirit, generous with his ideas, dynamic and always willing to entertain the unthinkable. His grasp of the brief was immediate and comprehensive – and through gentle provocation and his focus on making striking, impactful work, he succeeded in leading us on the creative journey with skill and grace. We are delighted with the results
— Lee Haven Jones - Director

The concept was to create a sequence that celebrated the beauty of the location, but in a slightly unnerving, uncomfortable style. From the focus shifts, to wind buffeting camera movement, the sense of the elements beats down on the predominantly empty scenes. Inspired by cinemagraphs, a flicker of movement within the image brings the piece subtly to life…

Here is the final piece - complete with sound composed by the extremely talented Samuel Sim.
